Thymios Fountas
wet dreams

Thymios is a Belgian-Greek director, writer and actor born in Copenhagen (Denmark) in 1989. He trained at the IAD (2013) with a major in acting and at INSAS (2015) with a major in writing (theatre and film) under the tutelage of Jean-Marie Piemme.

In 2014, he met the Clinic Orgasm Society when he was assistant director on their show Pré.

With herux he created Das Boot, a musical and performance project. He also performs in two shows by the same company: Si tu me survis,... (2016) and Molière's George (2022).

He has written several short plays (Dicke Bertha, Mandibules and Je choisis une forêt) as well as two full-length plays: Sauvez Bâtard (published by L'Arbre de Diane) and Ublo (staged by Cie Canicule in 2018).

Sauvez Bâtard is her first stage production. It premiered at the Théâtre de Liège in April 2023 as part of the Émulation festival. In February 2024, he founded the company wet dreams.

Inspired by virtual worlds, pop, SF and fantasy imaginary worlds, as much as by his own personal history, his work
questions our possibilities for the future and for transformation, in line with his environmentalist and queer feminist convictions.

The sky has disappeared. In a wasteland that looks like the end of the world, Bastard has to stand trial before a street court, made up of Clébard, Clochard and Cafard, for a murder that he himself struggles to remember if he really committed. Using his superpowers as a poet, he creates gaps in space-time, a kind of flashback to last night. Then Ekart appears, the idol of the neighbourhood, the only one with a professional future thanks to his English lessons...

The tone of the play oscillates between grotesque humour (ridiculous puns, situational comedy) and romantic darkness (emphasis, evocation of ruin).
It is parody that makes this cohabitation of tragic and comic genres possible.
Not a parody that is satisfied with mockery, but one that uses the insolence of derision to tell another story, on the fringes of the great tragic and unifying narratives.
A fable with five characters to talk about the ungrandiose, the small, the shameful, the disenfranchised, the bizarre, the freaks, with importance and ridicule at the same time, in a playful and erotic way.

And at the heart of the story, of course, is love. A broken, sick love, somewhere between kitschy romance and super-drama, and the sincere hurt that loss can cause.
